MILD HYBRID VEHICLES (MHEV)

GIVE YOUR DRIVE AN ELECTRIC BOOST

WHY CHOOSE A MILD HYBRID VEHICLE?

LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION

The assistance provided by the electric motor reduces the power required from the engine, thus helping to reduce fuel consumption.

NO RECHARGING COLUMNS

No charging stations are needed, as regenerative braking recharges the battery while driving.

FAMILY EXPERIENCE

It's like driving a conventional vehicle, but with a more responsive ride and greater efficiency * .

WHAT IS A MILD HYBRID VEHICLE?

A Mild Hybrid Vehicle (MHEV) uses a battery-powered electric motor to back up a conventional petrol or diesel engine to improve efficiency and reduce emissions (Compared to other non-hybrid combustion engine vehicles.). Mild hybrid vehicles use regenerative braking to recharge the battery while driving. They do not charge from an external power source and do not allow pure electric driving.

FORD MILD HYBRID MODELS

MILD HYBRID VANS

By 2035, we will only be selling all-electric commercial vehicles. At present, Transit Custom, Transit and Fiesta Van models are all available as mild hybrid vehicles.

HOW DOES A HYBRID VEHICLE WORK?

Based on the driving conditions, hybrid vehicles with automatic charging switch smoothly from the power supplied only by the internal combustion engine to the electric one to the combined one.

At low speeds and in stop-and-go traffic, the battery provides pure electric power for short distances, as well as more torque. During normal driving, it supplements the engine to save fuel. Regenerative braking recharges the battery to extend electric range.

When more power is needed or if the battery charge is low, the petrol engine takes over.
